Utilities that are engaged in operating water and sewerage networks or that provide utilities’ transportation services must maintain strict records of such supply services. Water is the most valuable resource of the planet, and any misuse of it must be punished. Accounting of supply services is carried out in accordance with the approved rules of organizing commercial accounting of the utility company, which regulate the scope of activities of housing and communal services. Accounting of services is carried out by measuring the amount of water and wastewater with metering devices, wastewater meters or by calculation in the absence of measuring devices. To conduct accounting of supply and sewerage services, devices of two categories are installed - metering, designed to determine the amount of water supplied to the consumer under a supply contract, and accounting of wastewater discharged by the client under a sewerage contract. Each party to the contract places its own measuring devices at the border of the balance sheet belonging to the networks or the border of the operational responsibility of each of the parties.
